Pier-C constantly strives to find new ways to
preserve our natural environment. Our growing and packing
operations are equipped with the latest technology that enables
us to preserve our natural ecosystem.
Pier-C is always searching for ways to improve and leave the smallest ecological foot print possible. Here are a few different ways that Pier-C is trying to make a difference in the environment:
Recycling waste water from our carrot packing operations.
All food waste from Pier-C is sent for compost and therefore never sees
a landfill site.
Pier-C utilizes recyclable packaging, a portion of which is made from
Boom and drip irrigation which is an efficient and waste free way
of crop irrigating, resulting in 10% less water used than in ordinary irrigation methods.
Using GPS on all our farm equipment enables us to increase our yields
while decreasing the use of fossil fuels, which reduces our carbon footprint.
